Moving towards our transition

by Carol Purcell, Senior Warden.

Your Vestry is continuing to prepare for our transition from Rev. Carol's departure on Sept.5 to engaging a new rector. Thus far we have:

  • Forwarded our request for an Interim priest to the diocese together with a job description prepared by the Vestry. We anticipate interviewing suitable candidates in September, targeting an October 10 start date for the Interim.
  • Arranged for clerical coverage for our worship services from Sept 12 - Oct 10. Details listed here and also on the calendar, coverage for additional Sundays in October is available, if necessary:
    • Sept 12: Rev. Mary Godreau
    • Sept 19: Morning Prayer with Kip West (8:00 am) and Jennifer Nelson (10:30 am)
    • Sept 26: Rev. Fred Fenton
    • Oct 3, St. Francis Day: Rev. Charles Ramsden: Blessing of the Animals
  • Parish Profile and Search Committee: The Vestry is reviewing the Handbook for Transitions, supplied by the Diocese, and will begin discussing the formation of the Search Committee in the near future. We anticipate having that committee in place by the end of October
